Street Futbol or Street Soccer is exactly what it sounds like, playing soccer on the street. Unlike conventional soccer that is played on a field with measured lines, proper goal post, referees, uniforms, etc. Street Soccer is relatively new to the world of soccer as a professional setting goes. However, street soccer has been around for a long time in an informal setting and is constantly evolving and changing, and differs from region to region.
You may find a group of kids playing street soccer or adults using a shoes for goal post, maybe clothes, hand drawn lines, a wall or other items. Street soccer can be played with a ball, any level pavement and players that have love for the game.
Street soccer in recent years has seen the rise of professional organized teams and tournaments. Athletic movement, exquisite foot skills, passionate players, and creative locations all are a part of the world of street soccer. Street soccer typically has a fast pace, freestyle skills and fair play mentality.
The game is played on a smaller and mostly informal, hard surface (such has concrete, asphalt, pavement) as opposed to the bigger and softer terrain of regular grass soccer field or indoor turf field.
One thing is for sure; street soccer is loved by many around the world and is here to stay!
